Course Improvement Update

Fairway Overseeding Project

Following a challenging winter and spring, our Bermuda grass fairways have experienced slower-than-normal recovery due to extended periods of cooler temperatures and unfavorable growing conditions. After careful evaluation and consultation with our agronomic advisors and turf management professionals, we have made the decision to implement a fairway overseeding program to accelerate recovery and improve overall playing conditions.

This proactive initiative is designed to strengthen turf density, improve playability, and support the long-term health and sustainability of our golf course.

Why We Are Overseeding

While Bermuda grass is a resilient warm-season turf, this year's weather patterns have left several fairway areas thinner than desired. Following recommendations from our agronomic team, overseeding was determined to be the most effective course of action to improve turf coverage, enhance recovery, and provide more consistent playing conditions throughout the remainder of the season.

This investment reflects our commitment to maintaining the highest possible standards for course conditioning while protecting the long-term health of our fairways.

The Process and Timing

Fairway preparation and overseeding operations will begin on Monday, June 15, 2026.

The process involves introducing new seed into existing fairway turf to encourage improved density and recovery while supporting continued seasonal growth. Following seed application, maintaining proper moisture levels will be critical to successful germination and establishment.

Cart Path Only Conditions

To protect newly seeded areas and maximize the success of this project, the golf course will operate under Cart Path Only conditions for a period of time.

Restricting cart traffic significantly reduces stress on recovering turf, minimizes damage to emerging seedlings, and helps ensure the best possible results from the overseeding program.

We understand this may create some inconvenience and sincerely appreciate your patience and cooperation during this important improvement effort.

Irrigation (Course Conditions)

Members will notice increased irrigation activity throughout the golf course over the coming weeks. Frequent, light watering cycles are necessary to maintain consistent moisture levels during the germination and establishment process. As a result, some areas of the course may be wetter than normal. While these temporary conditions may affect playability in certain locations, they are essential to the success of the project and the long-term improvement of our fairways.

Expectations 

Over the coming weeks, members can expect to see gradual improvements in fairway density, color, and overall turf quality. As summer temperatures increase and growing conditions become more favorable, recovery should continue to accelerate throughout the season.

While turf establishment requires time and patience, our agronomy team is confident that these efforts will result in stronger, healthier fairways and improved playing conditions as we move through the summer and into the fall.

While temporary disruptions are sometimes necessary to achieve long-term improvements, we are confident this project will significantly enhance course conditions and the overall member experience in the months ahead.
